Abstract
This is a descriptive research to investigate the difference in the perception on harmfulness of adolescent¡¯s behavioral problems between students and their parents. The data were collected from 293 high school students and 255 their parents. The perception on the harmfulness of behavioral problems between students and parents was significantly different (t=10.13, p=0.000). The item with the most difference was ¡®the behavior which students disobey or resist teacher¡¯s or their parents¡¯ direction¡¯ (students: 2.92, parents: 1.85) (t=12.54, p=0.000). The item with the least difference was ¡®the behavior which students use drug and hallucinogen or inhale a bond¡¯ (students: 1.65, parents: 1.43) (t=2.52, p=0.012). The way for decreasing the difference in perception should be further studied, focusing on the communication and understanding between students and parents.
